So as you already know from reading our blog, I (Mike) have recently discovered that I’m an artist at heart (granted, an extremely goofy one), and for the past couple of months have been making my own radio shows and comedy skits, etc. Well, as it turns out, audio was just the start! That’s right–I’ve finally broken into the realm of video editing . I say “broken into” because it really did take some breaking into; the technical hurdles have been incredible. I won’t bore you with them here, but suffice it to say that DVD camcorders are NOT designed for editing on a computer, and there is hardly any official way to edit footage taken on a DVD camcorder. So if you’re in the market for a camcorder and you’re planning to edit video, go with DV or some other format, unless you want your head to explode (like mine almost did).
Anyway, as a sort of trial run for my new video editing hobby, I decided to play around with some footage that was taken in 2006 of me and my friend David Harris playing around with dry ice. I call it Dry Ice Adventures . It’s not very high-quality, but I learned so much that my next project should look 100% better. The cut included here on the website is just over 4 minutes long. So if you have a chance, check it out and see what kinds of craziness I’m now capable of! Heh, heh, heh…
Here it is:
Enjoy! And stay tuned for my next project, which is already in the works!
-Mike
