We’re back!!!

We’re back–finally! We are very, very grateful to God who took good care of us on our 900-mile trip back home to Maryland. There was initially a great deal of doubt that everything would actually fit in our moving truck, especially after acquiring an entire room full of baby stuff! But everything fit in our truck just fine (in fact, we had empty space that we had to fill with empty boxes), and so far we have not discovered a single broken item. Praise the Lord! Mike and his packing masterpiece Thanks to everyone who helped us to pack,...

More from Jen

This is my Christmas gift for Grandmom.  Shhh… don’t tell!  She asked me to make her a set of handmade stationery.  I put together 20 cards for her & chose the theme for the stationery as being “Purple flowers” (iris, lilac, thistle, pansy).   The really fun part was that I set an artistic challenge for myself to try and express the feel of these flowers without actually using the color purple.  Just the thing I needed to get my confidence up after being in an artistic slump for a number of months!  I really enjoyed this project — hopefully more to come....

Then, later in the afternoon, we were joined by a whole crew of folks who finished loading the truck for us… … and even helped us to get our car attached to the trailer.  This was something none of us had ever done before, but between the 8 of us, we were able to figure it out! By the time that was said and done, we had essentially constructed a 40-foot-long vehicle that we were going to need to navigate onto the highways, and actually drive for about 18 hours — Yikes! Mike ended up taking this really cool picture of the sun setting over the garage roof shortly before our departure.  I think this picture captures the feeling of God’s protection that we felt all throughout the trip.  I really sensed being in God’s hands throughout...
