As Simple as PBJ

This month,

 I’ve been singing the song

“Peanut… Peanut Butter… and JELLY”

with my 6th grade students.

So, on Monday

we made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches

 together.

The kids did great spreading the peanut butter.

And of course the jelly was no problem.

But when I asked the kids

to put the two slices together…

peanut butter & jelly

They were totally grossed out!

Isn’t it funny how we take certain food combinations for granted?

Anyone for a fermented bean and seaweed riceball?

Mmmm…

Yeah, the fact that 99.9999% of people in Japan LOVE sushi is still astonishing to me and most of the Americans I know.  Speaking of food, thanks for the recipes.  I’ll have to try them sometime.  And…can I submit another request?  Could you somehow (either post or send by email) some of the pictures from skating last week…like Tammy on the train and I think there were some with me and Yuka…and before I finish this, I’m going to make sure you didn’t already do this…so…if you did, thanks.  If there are still some more, would you mind….?  Thanks!
